Associate, Accounts: One-Part Creative Agency, One-Part VC Firm

Location: New York, NY

Our client is a unique NYC-based agency best described as a “marketing operations” partner where strategy and creativity unite to build exciting brands. The agency partners with brands both as an investor and as a growth advertising agency, streamlining their processes operationally and marketing presence.

They currently seek an Associate of Accounts to act as a swiss army knife in the firm’s “Yes, If” culture, managing a wide variety of projects among both well established Fortune 300 brands and burgeoning brands intent on disrupting them. This Associate will collaborate with teams across key client decision makers and solve problems, flexing across all types of projects - one day managing a design sprint for a new DTC start-up and the next - developing a business and staffing plan for a PE-backed transaction or a visual identity creative exercise . To be successful, the ideal candidate has a healthy balance of EQ and IQ, brand and business and people and process.

Responsibilities:

- Be the expert on client brands and the categories in which they reside

- Possesses overall experience in crafting SOWs, overseeing budgets and management teams

- Experience with studying consumer behavior and cultural momentum

- Develop and present comprehensive competitive assessments, quarterly

- Identify opportunities for organic growth on the business, and regularly share those thoughts/ideas with management

- Assist in the production of primary research initiatives, from managing a respondent recruit to managing the overall research budget

- Own the process of trafficking campaigns or design executions

- Assist with scheduling of internal and external meetings

- Trial new products and services developed by firm investments - or prospective investments - and communicate thoughts across team-members

- Co-conspire with Strategy team across development of strategic foundation

Requirements:

- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience or more working in an advertising/design agency or adjacent industry in an account management capacity

- Bachelor’s degree

- Experience within a wide variety of consumer sectors, managing/developing key client relationships and working intimately alongside strategy and creative

- Presentation skills with a knack for compelling storytelling

- Ability to think critically about client brands to challenge the status quo

- Production experience and curiosity a plus

- An entrepreneurial spirit with scrappiness and accountability and who inspires and motivates
