Business Development Lead: Independently Owned Boutique Design and Branding Agency
Location: New York, NY - Hybrid in Office / Remote
Our client is an award-winning, respected, entrepreneurial and independent boutique agency based in White Plains, just north of the city, offering branding and identity services and working with a variety of fun and creatively-charged consumer brands.
They seek a New Business candidate to lead inbound and outbound new business efforts and to shape and execute a new business strategy and path for the agency. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, adaptable, and eager to contribute to the team and the agency's success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end New Business Development journey including outreach, attending meetings, understanding needs, scoping work/writing proposals, follow ups, closing business, integrating clients into the agency, reconnecting the loop later on
- Promote current agency services as well as cultivating newer ones (i.e. digital, web, campaign)
- Sell within current agency client expertise (i.e. CPG) as well as opening new doors (i.e. corporate, hospitality, tech, liquor, etc.)
- Comfort with Marketing as a key sales driver; this person will have involvement in the agency marketing plan which includes activities such as events/conferences, social media, digital sales, PR, blogs, etc.
- Once business is won, engage in a detailed hand off of the day to day to the account team
Requirements:
- 5-10 years in a new business/business development role with track record of success
- Experience in sales/business development at a CPG Branding agency specifically a plus
- Can work autonomously and independently while also collaborating closely with teams - having each other’s backs and working together to bring new ideas and techniques to the table
- Preference for a candidate with an established book of business/contacts
- Ability to lead meetings & presentations independently and comfortable with presenting to senior level clients
- Self-motivated with a great work ethic and scrappy entrepreneurial spirit
- Great communicator and writing skills
- Possess good energy and charisma, the type of person that people want to be around
- Can commit to agency culture - prioritizing work/life balance, highly collaborative with no level of work too big or too small and a no a-hole policy
