Creative Director Opportunity: Global Branding and Design Agency

Location: San Francisco, CA

Our client is a leading global branding and design agency with offices in New York City, London and San Francisco, known for creating identities for some of the most well-known brands in the world.

They seek a talented and hands on Creative Director to join their collaborative San Francisco office. This candidate will have the ability to operate from a more strategic and higher-level perspective but also roll up sleeves and dig in at ground level daily. The Creative Director must have the gravitas to partner with very senior clients as well as to truly inspire internal teams.

Strong experience in branding is necessary because this person is a BRAND BUILDER and will be both building and re-imagining brands across technology, media, retail and non-profit clients.

Responsibilities:

-Lead and inspire their design community bring a strong, uncompromising creative point of view to the leadership of the business

-Lead multiple large, complex projects and new business efforts simultaneously

-Partner with strategy and program management on winning, planning and executing on projects that solve fundamental brand challenges for clients

-Grow the agency’s reputation in the world—speaking at big events and building an influential creative network

-Build great relationships internally with other seniors as well as the cross-disciplinary teams you are overseeing

Requirements:

-10-12 years of design experience, both as a hands-on designer and as a creative leader

-100% credible in the core disciplines of graphic design, interaction design or motion graphics

-A creative visionary who is passionate about the power of design to change the world

-A restless thinker with the desire to challenge, surprise and stretch everyone around you, with a finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the world

-Huge ambition, drive, energy, and optimism

-Brilliant rigor, cut-through, and clarity of thought

-A great influencer and persuader, who thinks and acts like a leader inside and outside of the agency

-A generous and collaborative nature, giving others space and encouragement to grow

-The awareness to lead by example, always willing to roll up your sleeves and dig into the creation of the work when it's needed

-Mature and perceptive – able to ‘read’ and understand complex situations and others’ motivations

-Never afraid to offer an opinion – or ask others theirs

-Deep skills in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

-Additional experience is a big plus: motion, code, 3D, etc.
