Director of Business Development: Creative Integrated Advertising Agency

Location: New York, NY

Our client is the fierce (but friendly) full-service, independent advertising agency that delivers big-agency expertise faster, smarter, and more efficiently. Boasting multiple awards and accolades, they’re seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented individual to lead new business efforts and support their growth and success. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Director of Business Development will have an opportunity to lead and work directly with the senior leadership team.

Responsibilities:

- Develop agency annual growth plan in partnership with Managing Director and founders

- Assist in the concepting and execution of the agency’s outbound new business efforts including key new business assets including but not limited to creds deck, talking points, case studies, sizzle reel, one-pager work write-ups, and more

- Evaluate inbound new business opportunities

- Organize and lead agency pitches, including “pitch theater” recommendations

- Write Scopes of Work (SOW) and staff plans for new business prospects (in partnership with finance team)

- Develop RFI and RFP submissions that are compelling and persuasive

- Lead new business status meetings with Managing Director and Founders

- Partner with agency PR resources and founders to publicize agency work, awards and notable news

- Build productive relationships with pitch consultants

- Oversee agency website & social channel updates

- Develop and leverage industry contacts that lead to new business opportunities

- Attend industry new business events and webinars, share and implement best practices

- Supervise, train and inspire New Business Account Executive and New Business Interns

- Stay abreast of industry trends and make recommendations that allow the agency to better compete for new business opportunities

- Positively contribute to overall agency culture and moral

Requirements:

- 6-8 years in a new business/business development role with track record of success

- Strong written and presentation skills

- Entrepreneurial spirit

- High energy and detail oriented

- Superior organizational abilities

- Passion for creativity
