Executive Strategy Director / Global Principal:

Our client is brand consultancy, based in London, New York City and San Francisco. The company’s purpose is to create transformative brands that push what’s possible for people, businesses and the world, exploring new ways of doing things and using creativity to make a difference.
They currently seek an Executive Strategy Director/ Global Principal to join their team to set the vision and the standards for the business and for its people within the strategy community. The Executive Strategy Director will play an active role as a business leader, taking responsibility for projects and the community by engaging in both new business and organic growth opportunities, championing the company culture and mentoring and stretching people’s potential to deliver the best work of their lives.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted partner and advisor to C-level clients while ensuring client satisfaction and retention
- Possess a unique ability to both understand client’s businesses and the company’s full offerings to realize business development opportunities
- Help fill the pipeline with new opportunities by actively development industry relationships and cultivating new prospects
- Lead new business pitches for prospective clients, directing others through the process
- Leverage learnings from both successful and unsuccessful pitches to improve overall processes and win rate
- Push the disciplines of strategy, design and change – taking them into new areas being an instigator of debate in the industry and the media.
- Provide oversight and direct authorship of world-class strategic deliverables, points-of-view and proposals
- Possess a cross-disciplinary mindset, able to partner and collaborate well with Design, PGM, New Business, Program Management and Resourcing to ensure profitability on projects
- Develop and improve upon strategic offerings for the business, innovating to meet ever-changing market needs.
- Set the vision for the discipline in partnership with the President/MD and Global Principals
- Cultivate a culture of learning by sharing knowledge and best practice
- Play an active role in reviewing and improving the performance of the community, including contributing new tools and methodologies as well as help shape the appropriate mix of talent for the business
- Where appropriate lead formal performance review processes for the community
Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in an agency environment, preferably a brand consultancy
- Most likely have a rich experience of roles, deep sector experience, possibly a post-graduate qualification, e.g. MBA.
- Have experience as a brand leader and transformation expert (deep expertise in enterprise-level brand purpose/positioning and portfolio strategy/architecture required)
- Have a proven track record in winning significant new business through pitches
- Speak the language of culture/employee engagement, customer experience, innovation and/or insights and analytics - you’re able to consult with clients on a range of brand and marketing issues
- Have previously led a variety of multi-disciplinary teams and feel at home working with client services and design
- Most likely be a sector specialist in an area related to our work – e.g. technology, finance – or a pioneer in a certain methodology or practice, e.g. service innovation.
- Have previous experience in helping to change large, established organizations or up-scale fast growth, tech-led businesses
- Be likely to have a reputation in your own right and must have some expertise and experience in brand
- Be entrepreneurial, with the ability to design projects into the long term with a view to organic growth and relationship extension. You will be passionate about developing new products, offers and markets to help the business grow.
- Have the judgment and experience to direct your team in finding resolutions empowering, motivating, nurturing and inspiring others. You will give your team space while stretching and pushing them to grow and succeed
- Enjoy expanding your network and can quickly establish rapport with clients and your team with a relentless, infectious positive energy that others feed on
- Able to remain calm and positive in the face of changes, business challenges and unique requirements of a project-driven business
