Marketing Manager / Senior Marketing Manager of New Product Development and Innovation: Privately Owned Personal Care and OTC Product Manufacturer
Location: White Plains, NY
Our client is a privately-owned manufacturer and marketer of major Health & Beauty Aid private-label and branded-line products serving food, drug, mass merchant and e-commerce retailers. They currently seek a dynamic and entrepreneurial Marketing Manager or Senior Marketing Manager of New Product Development (NPD) & Innovation to join their Marketing team to lead the innovation function within the marketing department and drive growth through new product opportunities and consumer trends.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the NPD/ Innovation function within the Marketing team, reporting to the VP of Marketing
- Identify consumer white space and introduce new product ideas & modifications for the private label and branded portfolios
- Assist Sales with NPD related customer requests, coordinating timelines, cost, volume, pricing, and sell sheets
- Develop marketing collateral such as new product sell sheets and sell in presentations
- Own all aspects of the product development/innovation life cycle, from communicating with vendors to initiating projects, request samples, and providing design feedback and modification requests, to writing new item briefs, and creating and managing product project timelines to capture key deliverables and deadlines
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders within Senior Management, Marketing, Project Management, and Regulatory teams to most effectively map out and improve timelines as well as to anticipate and optimize improvements to product formulas and packaging
- Work closely with Art department to issue preliminary product copy, mockup requests, and design direction
- Manage market research projects to identify and filter potential new products (e.g. category analysis, competitive product review, consumer reviews)
- Coach and develop the NPD/ Innovation Assistant
- Present status updates to senior management on a quarterly basis, with smaller monthly updates
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Marketing preferred
- Minimum 5-8 years relevant experience in new product development, consumer marketing and project management, ideally in the OTC and/or personal care space
- Ability to see areas of opportunity based on consumer trends and need gaps
- Creative, problem-solving mindset, with the ability to translate quantitative learnings into product recommendations
- Keen attention to detail, organized, with the ability to prioritize and execute against deadlines
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership
