PR and Communications Manager: Holistic Design and Branding Agency

Location: New York, NY

Our client is a holistic design and branding agency based in New York City. They develop original design solutions for an impressive array of leading technology, beauty, luxury, consumer and lifestyle brands. Their service offerings include strategy + innovation, product design, experience design, branding and packaging.

The agency seeks an in-house PR and Communications Manager in NYC to uncover, shape, and spread the agency's global story through a variety of channels including media relations, internal communications, social media, event planning, awards and employee engagement initiatives.

To be successful in this position, you must have an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent written and verbal communication, some press contacts wouldn't hurt!, and an interest in the design world.

Responsibilities:

-Drive the PR and communications strategy for the agency

-Field PR opportunities and generate consistent press, proactively partner with both internal teams as well as key clients to prepare press materials and position the agency in the market

-Drive development of brand campaign strategies and ongoing media strategy

-Monitor and manage all of the agency’s owned platforms, partnering with brand design team on content development

- Strategically identify and pitch relevant speaking and event opportunities for the agency executives across the global network

- Write clear and concise press releases, media alerts and pitches

- Maintain, create, manage and update PR calendar

- Write and execute PR plans for new campaigns, events and internal office initiatives

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media players

- Keep annual calendars of events targets and activities organized

Requirements:

-4- 8 years of PR and communication experience, preferably with some agency experience

- Strong storytelling ability

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Experience in drafting press releases, media alerts, talking points, briefing docs, and other media assets

- Strong industry/trade press relationships with proven record of story placement

- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems to streamline comms activities

- Experience with and working knowledge of industry award programs

- Experience seeking out and shaping stories within agency for press and event opportunities

- Understanding of the advertising, design and experiential landscape and industries

- Strong social media experience and understanding of best practices

- Excellent attention to detail and strong personal organizational discipline

- Project management capabilities to manage multiple projects, people, and workstreams
