Senior Brand Writer: Global Brand and Design Consultancy

Our client is brand consultancy, based in London, New York City and San Francisco. The company’s purpose is to create transformative brands that push what’s possible for people, businesses and the world, exploring new ways of doing things and using creativity to make a difference.
They currently seek a Senior Brand Writer to help drive the agency’s storytelling engine. The Senior Brand Writer will have the opportunity to work with the Verbal Strategy, Strategy and Design teams to define the big ideas that transform brands. The Senior Brand Writer will be responsible for partnering with clients to help them find their voice, shape how they’re positioned, and create content to communicate their messages - from manifestors and film scripts to website copy and product experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Possess a strong understanding of brand strategy and its application for verbal
identity, executing and bringing it to life in creative ways, e.g. writing a manifesto, articulating
the brand's personality, and creating stories around the brand
- Seek to understand and interpret the client and translate their needs into meaningful verbal recommendations, tools and expressions
- Reinforce the power of the written word to drive better customer and stakeholder experiences with organizations, brands, products, and services
- Lead the creation of verbal identity deliverables including messaging themes and key messages, brand voice, naming, and overall copy for a variety of touchpoints
- Collaborate across communities working closely with design and strategy leads to add a strong verbal dimension to the company’s creative output, creating powerful ideas for products, services, communications and more
- Contribute content for new business pitches as needed
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of direct, experienced verbal identity and brand writing experience in an agency environment as both a leader and as a writer driving work from conception through delivery on multiple workstreams
- Possess strong point of view to the verbal identity team with skills as an inventive, original thinker with a talent for words
- Able to write different types of creative copy (long, short, headlines, stories) for a wide range of audiences and purposes
- Able to work across disciplines collaboratively and consistently well with designers, strategists and engagement managers
- Keen to understand the bigger picture of the company’s clients and their worlds
- Articulate and persuasive in presenting your work both in writing and in person, particularly in client meetings and pitches
