Senior Strategy Director, Hybrid Experience and Brand Strategy:

Our client is brand consultancy, based in London, New York City and San Francisco. The company’s purpose is to create transformative brands that push what’s possible for people, businesses and the world, exploring new ways of doing things and using creativity to make a difference.

They currently seek a Senior Strategy Director to join their team and play a key role in leading the company’s largest client relationships and new business pursuits operating in a hybrid role in brand strategy and experience strategy.

The Senior Strategy Director will guide the client/team by being a trusted partner to C-level clients and an inspiring leader, helping shape projects with a clear view into the user experience and journey, skillfully navigating brand architecture and experience issues and delivering consistently as the go-to experience expert on the team. As an expert practitioner, they command gravitas in every room, empower teams to think beyond the brief and push people to do the best work of their lives while strongly contributing to growth and championing the company culture.

Responsibilities:

- Win, lead and grow the agency’s largest strategy accounts ($1 million +), sometimes one at a time, sometimes directing several at once, shaping brand and experience strategy approaches

- Provide oversight and direct authorship of world-class strategic deliverables, points-of-view and proposals

- Possess a strong grasp on experience strategy fundamentals like mapping customer journeys, articulating experience principles, and developing brand ecosystems and where experience strategy could add value to existing strategic projects

- Act as a trusted partner and advisor to C-level clients while ensuring client satisfaction and retention

- Push the disciplines of strategy, design and change – taking them into new areas being an instigator of debate in the industry and the media

- Have a constant eye on business, helping to fill the pipeline with new opportunities, and leading pitches

- Be a reliable bellwether of what is ‘right’ for the development of the business –especially in areas of specific investment for us, like technology, learning or measurement

- Be an inspiring change maker for clients, convincing a range of stakeholders with logic and emotion, and to help them go through a full business transformation journey

- Be cross-disciplinary in thinking, partnering and collaborating with Strategy, Design, PGM, new business, and client teams

- Play an active role mentoring more junior Strategists with their development and contributing new tools and methodologies

Requirements:

- 12+ years of experience in an agency environment, preferably a brand consultancy

- Have extensive experience in brand (deep expertise in enterprise-level brand purpose/positioning and portfolio strategy/architecture required plus brand experience)

- Speak the language of culture/employee engagement, customer experience, innovation and/or insights and analytics

- UX experience across all fundamental aspects of experience strategy to comfortably partner with brand strategists on projects and build trust with clients

- A wide range of experience strategy and design tools, skills and methods

- Have a rich experience of roles, deep sector experience, possibly a postgraduate qualification, e.g. MBA.

- Have previously led a variety of multi-disciplinary teams

- Have previous experience in helping to change large, established organizations or up-scale fast growth, tech-led businesses.

- Most likely be a sector specialist in an area related to our work – e.g. technology, finance – or a pioneer in a certain methodology or practice, e.g. service innovation

- Be likely to have a reputation in your own right and must have some expertise and experience in brand

- Be entrepreneurial, with the ability to design projects into the long term with a view to organic growth and relationship extension.

- Have the judgment and experience to direct your team in finding resolutions empowering, motivating, nurturing and inspiring others. You will give your team space while stretching and pushing them to grow and succeed

- Enjoy expanding your network and can quickly establish rapport with clients and your team with a relentless, infectious positive energy that others feed on

- Able to remain calm and positive in the face of changes, business challenges and unique requirements of a project-driven business
