Strategy Director/Head of Strategy: Independently Owned Advertising + Branding Agency

Location: New York, NY.

Our client is an independently-owned, renowned advertising and branding agency specializing in fashion, beauty and luxury clientele.

They seek a dynamic, culturally tuned in Strategy Director/Head of Strategy with a strong interest in brand positioning, brand identity, advertising and 360-storytelling to work alongside our creative team. This person will lead all strategy endeavors inclusive of brand strategy, design strategy, advertising/marketing strategy, and platform development.

Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the work:

- Lead all strategy endeavors, leading brand strategy, design strategy as well as advertising/marketing strategy for advertising campaigns.

- Platform development: Build brand and creative platforms.

- Perform primary and secondary research inclusive of competitive landscape, culture, and the brand to create a hypothesis about where to take the brand.

- Build creative briefs and collaborate with the creative teams on projects.

- Create communications frameworks and hierarchies.

- Create social media strategies and frameworks.

- Fine-tune communication strategy: connect the essence of the brand to social media, messaging, experiential.

- Narrative writing, building strategy storytelling with clarity and emotion.

- Building brand-house pyramids inclusive of positioning, values, belief, personality, etc.

 Requirements:

- 8+ yrs experience creating brands and campaigns

- A rigorous, curious, thoughtful and efficient market and cultural researcher

- A visionary thinker who understands the roles of brands with the ability to push their boundaries.

- Innate curiosity and ability to bring unique inspiration to every project

- A master at uncovering inspiring and actionable insights in regards to brand, consumers and culture

- A concise and compelling writer

- Experience analyzing, distilling and moderating primary research

- A passion for creating brands from the ground up or repositioning existing ones

- Expert in brand book development, from mission/vision/values to pyramids to brand architecture

- Proficient in creating 360 go-to-market strategy tools, from campaign frameworks to channel planning to social strategy

- A comfortable, capable and compelling presenter

- Interest in art, fashion, design and hospitality
