VP, Marketing: Exciting DTC Technology Startup

Location: New York, NY

Our client is a Brooklyn-born direct-to-consumer transportation technology startup looking to help lead cities into a zero-carbon future. They are electrifying cities through charging infrastructure and shared electric vehicle fleets all through a state-of-the-art app. They are in high growth mode, operating in and expanding into multiple cities throughout the US and are committed to a stable model of both full-time and hourly employees on staff instead of relying on the gig economy.

They currently seek a VP of Marketing to position and market the company as a leader for shared electric vehicles and electric infrastructure and bring the company into the next phase as they launch in new markets. This position allows for a seat on the senior management team, the ability to mentor and lead a marketing team and establish a growth marketing strategy from the ground level to be used and repeated across multiple channels and markets.

Responsibilities:

- Act as the lead marketing representative on the senior management team collaborating closely with all company departments (with a focus on Data, Operations, Product, and Customer Experience)

- Lead, manage and mentor marketing team

- Develop growth marketing strategy from the ground floor, encompassing customer acquisition and retention marketing and more expanding overall channel strategy based on overall company-wide priorities, budget, resources and needs of individual market cities

- Be responsible for execution of marketing strategy and optimize central and local marketing resources across performance, brand, content and field marketing teams

- Demonstrate an ability to analyze and interpret data and user research across a variety of marketing sources and tools

- Use data, user research and other insights to make strategic decisions and to continually improve marketing strategy and overall user journey to increase conversion at every step of the customer funnel

- Refine marketing strategy across channels as needed

- Create repeatable marketing playbook processes as an outcome of overall strategy development to be used locally and nationally

Requirements:

- 10+ years of marketing experience, with an extensive background in growth marketing and authority in making high-level marketing decisions

- Natural leader with excellent communication and organization skills

- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset

- Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced growth environment

- Proven ability to multi-task and manage complexity

- Experience leading and growing a team with the ability to support, mentor and develop employees
